Books are a huge part of my life.
But I am interested in lots of other things as well.
My parents took a photo of me when I was two or three years old climbing up to the ceiling in our house like Spider Woman. I was taken to a climbing wall and have climbed ever since.
I was one of the youngest people to be selected for my club’s competitive squad when I was 11 and I have participated in British Mountaineering Council events ever since.
I’ve also passed NICAS Level Four and am undertaking Level Five right now.

I’ve been fortunate to travel, particularly in Europe but also to North Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
I have a dream of travelling when I finish my studies and see more of the world away from typical tourist destinations.

I have always had a passion for Spain since I first started learning the language at primary school.
I have a deep love of Spain and am ambition to become fluent. I even have the language settings on my phone in Spanish to help me to immerse in the language on a daily basis.
I am very fortunate to have a Spanish pen pal who I have stayed with.

I decided to join my school’s Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) scheme in Year Nine.
I love the idea of testing myself and learning new skills and working with a team to fulfil our goals.
We have already done one camping trip and a weekend trek and there is a lot more to come.

Helping others is a big part of my life.
As part of my DofE scheme I undertook volunteering at a local youth club, working with younger children to give them some life skills.
I’ve also supported my former primary school with fundraising and as an extra pair of hands when we have had inset days at my school.
I have raised money for charities through bake sales and sponsored challenges.

I love to be creative – in many different forms.
I joined an adult painting class when I was 10 and continue to do that on weekends throughout the year.
I love to bake, to craft and to write myself.
